The Final Event of Fourth National Social Business Challenge 2019, organized by Yunus Business Centre, King’s College, and Youth Co-lab, will take place on the 28th and 29th of August 2019 at Yak and Yeti Hotel, Durbarmarg. Blincventures.com is a proud co-organiser for the event as we strive to build an ecosystem for social entrepreneurs and seek to provide the much-needed platform and visibility.
National Social Business Challenge is an annual program that aspires to solve problems of inequality through social entrepreneurship, by the active involvement of youth, and by inculcating an entrepreneurial way of thinking. To achieve these objectives, the organizers for the event collaborated with its partners to run boot camps that spanned over a month across all seven provinces of Nepal.
The social enterprises were evaluated and selected for the boot camp based on how their business ideas help to solve social, economic and development issues. Blincventures.com was able to successfully provide two boot camps to social entrepreneurs in Birgung and Pokhara.
Furthermore, the program received over 150 applications. Through two major screening process, the ideas were weighed against each other based on problem identification, innovation, business model, scalability and teamwork.
Currently, the organizing team and its partners are going through a rigorous process to select final social business ideas that will compete against each other. The finalists, after the third screening process, will be announced on the 19th of August 2019. The final ideators will travel to Kathmandu for the final pitch session on the 26th and 27th of August.
